Micah Hamilton

Artist Biography

Micah Hamilton is a metalsmith and textile artist in Oklahoma City. She studied sculpture at University of Central Oklahoma from 2007-2011. Her metalwork practice began in 2014 and she fell in love with the process of jewelry making. The same year, she also began a weaving practice on a simple frame loom, then later learned to art of weaving on a floor loom at OK Contemporary in 2015.

She has enjoyed creating textural handwoven wallhangings as well as fabrics that she sews into wearable garments and accessories. Micah works from her home studio making wallhangings, jewelry, clothing, and other wearable art pieces using second-hand or recycled materials as often as possible.

Micah’s work was included in the Art Group Juried Exhibition, April - June 2022, and in the Art Group Collaborative Exhibition, July 1 - August 8, 2022.
