Anni Szabo
Artist Biography & Statement
It was an unusually cold day for Oklahoma on January 9, 1989, when the soon to be artist and printmaker, Anni Szabo, was born just 16 minutes before her twin sister. Miss Szabo grew up in Oklahoma and in December 2006 she lost her mother and 7 years later, only 2 days after Father’s Day, she lost her father as well. A pain she copes with thru her art. She went to the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a minor in Art History, in 2015. She was recognized in several school sponsored exhibitions as an undergrad and was shown at the Istvan Gallery for her senior exhibition. She combined her love of fairy tales and her life experiences to inspire her final undergraduate work. Before she undertakes a master’s degree for printmaking, she will be spending about two years exploring her style away from the school atmosphere. She currently still lives in Oklahoma City with her prince charming and their two dogs.
Anni's work was featured in our Inaugural Group Exhibition, Summer 2016.
