Bridget Trowbridge
Artist Biography
Oklahoma based visual artist Bridget started drawing at a young age. Spending time working in the marketing world has influenced her work by adding aspects of consumerism and capitalism to her pieces.
Leaving an office setting has allowed her to develop a mixed media style influenced by the work of Jean-Michel Basquiat, Lewis Rossignol, and YONIL. As a personal challenge, Bridget intends on changing her style slightly with each collection as a form of self-development as well as having an open and close time for each artistic period.
Artist Statement
Every mistake I make stays on the canvas.
It’s the layers and layers of imperfections and differences that create beauty out of chaos. As a person with bipolar disorder, I often feel like I’m made up of a hundred mistakes. I think we all feel that way sometimes.
My art is a constant reminder to myself and anyone who needs it that all of life is what makes you who you are, even the bad parts. Every part of life is loved, beautiful, and worth living.
