Artist Statement

My creative work represents a recurring theme of “life through death” with its depictions of skulls/ bugs surrounded by floral work and other various objects. The theme for my work started coming out in high school and then progressed from there to where it’s at now. Through experimenting with different mediums I’ve found that working in a monochromatic theme usually through pen and India inks is my favorite. I began elaborating on these ideas over the past few years by experimenting with mediums and through my experiences as a student at Norman High School and the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute and so on since I have graduated in 2018.
