Sarah Day-Short
Artist Statement
Sarah Day-Short is interested in the science of color and light and its relationship to human moods and emotions. She uses metallics to reflect light in different ways, and each highly saturated color is used with intention. Reverting back to the fundamentals of art such as color, light, line, shape and composition has allowed her to experience art in a therapeutic way. Instead of limiting herself to a concept, she can let the materials and her own mind take her where they want to go. The creation of art has become a meditation. Losing herself in the process of creating is the concept itself.

Sarah's work was included in our 2017 Inaugural Group Exhibition, February - May 2017. She is part of FRINGE Women Artists of Oklahoma and was also in our exhibition, Fringe at The Art Hall, January - April 2018.
