Tony Dyke
Artist Biography
Emerging from figurative painting into the realm of abstraction, Tony Dyke draws inspiration from interior spaces and his urban surroundings. With a particular reverence for mid‐century modernism, he manipulate images that are often reduced to shapes and areas of color through an intuitive/reductive process that leads his works to a uniquely modern abstraction.
Tony Dyke was born in Norwich, Vermont, and attended the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts and Tufts University earning a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Painting. His solo exhibitions include Dartmouth College, Tufts University, Rose State College, and The Vermont Studio Center. Oklahoma City exhibitions include City Arts Center, Nault Gallery, JRB at the Elms, and Pickard Gallery. Corporate collections include the Reynolds Foundation, Groendyke Oil Company, and The Singer Corporation.
Tony relocated from New York City to his downtown studio and has worked there in Oklahoma City for the past decade.
Tony's work was featured in our exhibition, Susan Morrison-Dyke and Tony Dyke: Recent Work, October - December, 2016.
